Robert A. Culnane

Mr. Culnane has worked as a student loan industry participant and as an investment banker to student loan issuers since 1985.

Most recently Robert was managing director of the Capital Markets Division at First Marblehead Corporation. He has been associated with First Marblehead since the early 1990’s when he assisted the company in raising capital and executed securitizations. Between 1981 and 2000, Robert was vice president and manager in the Municipal Bond Department at Goldman Sachs, responsible for running the $38 billion Short Term Group and leading their tax-exempt student loan business. He has completed more than $5 billion in taxable and tax-exempt student loan financings.

Robert holds a B.S. from Middlebury College, where he graduated with honors.
