    As CEO, Stephen is responsible for the coordination and management of corporate matters. He founded Greystone in 1988 as an independent investment banking firm and has since developed it into a mature investment firm with a national reputation.

    Mr. Rosenberg leads Greystone as it successfully distinguishes itself in its creative approach and drive to provide solutions for its clients.

    Prior to joining Greystone, Stephen was a National Director with Dean Witter Reynolds.

    Stephen holds a D.M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School.

  • Allison Berman

    General Counsel, Chief Risk Officer, Greystone EB-5

    Allison Berman is the Manager and General Counsel of Greystone EB-5 Holdings Corp. She works on structuring and administering EB-5 compliant project investments on behalf of the company’s borrower clients nationwide. Ms. Berman is also responsible for working on general business matters for Greystone’s EB-5 program and for preparing legal agreements, offering and loan documents in connection with each of Greystone’s EB-5 projects.

    Ms. Berman joined Greystone in 2006 as Deputy General Counsel and has been involved in all aspects of legal representation of the Greystone affiliated companies.  Prior to joining Greystone, Ms. Berman was a partner in Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP’s New York real estate practice where she focused on financings of all varieties, including structured, syndicated, securitized and construction; senior/mezz intercreditor issues; and acquisitions and dispositions of assets and portfolios for both private and public companies in the real estate sector.

    She earned a J.D. cum laude from Boston University School of Law and an A.B. from Duke University.

    Scott Kavel is a Managing Director and Head of Greystone’s Seniors Housing Finance Team. Highly regarded for his creative approach to solving problems and superior ability to execute, Kavel has been a leading industry contributor for over 20 years, and has arranged over $5 Billion in seniors housing financing.

    Scott previously led Collateral Mortgage and Grandbridge Seniors Housing Lending platforms where he earned Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s top annual producer award on multiple occasions.

    Mr. Kavel earned a Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, an MBA in Real Estate and Risk Management from the University of Georgia, and passed the CPA Exam at his first sitting. He is an Executive Board Member of American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA).

    Executive Vice President

    Ms. Vartanian was recently repositioned to lead Greystone’s healthcare lending group which provides financing solutions to owners and operators of senior living and skilled nursing facilities. Betsy built Greystone’s FHA platform, having direct oversight of underwriting and origination since 2002. Under her leadership Greystone became the nation’s largest FHA lending platform in dollar volume.

    Betsy has worked in numerous facets of the commercial real estate and mortgage banking industries since 1987. Prior to joining Greystone in 2002, she provided primary oversight for a special servicing platform, becoming the first ranked special servicer of franchise loans. Earlier in her career, she worked for John Portman, a world-renowned architect and real estate developer for a decade, raising $3 billion for his real estate developments. Betsy played an integral role in a highly complex and very successful debt restructuring for Mr. Portman which involved billions of dollars of assets and took four years to complete.

    Betsy attended the University of Massachusetts and obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University.

    Jeff is responsible for the firm’s project finance efforts, fostering banking relationships and managing loan syndication and capital market activities. Prior to joining Greystone, Jeff served as Head of Capital Markets at Gramercy Capital Corp. where he was responsible for arranging corporate and project debt and leading secondary loan trading activities. Over his career, he has advised on and completed mortgage-based credit facilities, mezzanine finance, off-balance sheet acquisition and asset development programs, and both public and private debt and equity capital placements. Jeff received an M.B.A. in finance and real estate from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Bachelor of Science and Engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

    Executive Managing Director

    Rick Wolf is a Senior Managing Director and leads Greystone’s small loans platform. He also serves as Head of Production for the West Coast at Greystone.

    Previously, he worked at Fannie Mae for 11 years as Vice President where he was responsible for small loan production, negotiated pools and large national accounts. Rick also worked in securitization groups at Merrill Lynch and KPMG.

    He holds an MBA in finance from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Miami.

    Executive Vice President and COO, Agency Lending

    Kevin H. Williams is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Greystone’s Agency lending platform. Kevin has been in a leadership role at Greystone for over 10 years, and has over 24 years of total commercial real estate finance experience.

    Prior to joining Greystone, Kevin held the position of Executive Vice President with GMAC Commercial Mortgage. He was also an executive with Univest Financial Service.

    Kevin holds a Bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College and an M.B.A. from the University of Kentucky.

  • Serafino Tobia

    Director of CMBS and Bond Trading

    Mr. Tobia is responsible for committing the company’s capital for the purchase and sale of FHA-insured mortgages, Fannie Mae and Ginnie Mae mortgage-backed securities, and tax-exempt municipal bonds.

    Since 1980, Serafino has handled securities trading, portfolio management and hedging and derivative structuring. He also specialized in mortgage debt securities and municipal bonds. Prior to joining Greystone, he was a bond and derivatives trader in the municipal bond proprietary portfolio group for Lehman Brothers.

    Serafino holds a B.A. from Brandeis University and an M.B.A. in finance from Stern School, New York University.

  • Victoria Spevacek

    Chief Talent Officer

    Victoria is Greystone’s Chief Talent Officer, responsible for all Talent Management including recruitment and development of employees. Before joining Greystone, Victoria was the Director, Business Manager to the Chief Information Officer at Royal Bank of Scotland where she delivered all HR programs to the technology department. Victoria has also held positions with Pepsi Bottling Group and Previsor, where she consulted with Fortune 500 organizations to set HR policies and processes for recruitment and hiring in the US, Canada, Mexico and the UK. She has led project teams aligning company hiring standards with local legal requirements for two Fortune 100 organizations.

    A graduate of Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, Victoria studied Sociology/Anthropology and played NCAA Basketball and Tennis.

  • Jeffrey Simpson

    CEO - Greystone Development

    Mr. Simpson oversees Greystone’s real estate development team and projects. He is responsible for sourcing and structuring new acquisitions and joint ventures, while also managing the capitalization, entitlements, design, construction and sale & leasing of the properties. Additionally, Jeff sources debt and equity for opportunistic real estate transactions.

    Prior to joining Greystone, Jeff was an integral member of the Equity Office Properties team. He held a significant role in the repositioning of their iconic New York City office building portfolio. Prior to EOP, he oversaw over $100M of redevelopment projects in various sectors for Jones Lang LaSalle’s Project and Development Services team. Throughout his career, Jeff has held roles in real estate investment, construction, and engineering, and has managed the major redevelopment and repositioning of property in all sectors of commercial real estate.

    Jeff holds a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Delaware, as well as a M.S. in Real Estate Development and an Advanced Degree in Finance, both from NYU’s Schack Institute.

  • Lisa Schwartz

    General Counsel

    Ms. Schwartz is responsible for the oversight of the legal department. She advises senior management on corporate governance, licensing, insurance, security, personnel matters, risk management, litigation, advertising and general business matters. She is also responsible for preparation of legal agreements and management of outside counsel and provides legal support for numerous start-up businesses.

    Lisa has provided legal counsel in the areas of corporate and securities law, structured finance, and other financial transactions since 1990. Prior to joining Greystone, she was a corporate attorney for Thacher Proffitt & Wood.

    She earned a B.S.B.A. from the University of Illinois and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.

  • Claudia Schiepers

    Chief Marketing Officer

    Ms. Schiepers oversees all of Greystone’s marketing communications initiatives and is responsible for the company’s brand identity. She manages the firm’s public relations, advertising, conferences, internet presence and collateral.

    Claudia has been a specialist in the field of marketing communications since 1998 and has worked all over the world. Before Greystone, Claudia managed the communication and marketing efforts for companies such as Capco, Alcatel, Xircom and Technicolor.

    She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Xios – Hogeschool Limburg in her native Belgium.

  • Rob Russell

    Head of CMBS Production

    Russell brings more than 15 years of real estate experience to Greystone and has executed transactions in excess of $6 billion throughout his distinguished career. Previously, Russell was the Chief Production Officer at Pillar Multifamily, LLC and served as a Managing Director at Wachovia Securities, where his duties included originating and structuring debt/preferred equity transactions in the United States, and establishing Wachovia’s lending operations in Canada. He has also held similar positions at Credit Suisse, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette and Nomura Asset Capital Corporation.

    Russell holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Vermont and a Juris Doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He serves on the Advisory Board of the School of Business Administration at the University of Vermont.

  • Jonathan Russell

    Chief Information Officer

    Mr. Russell oversees all operations for Greystone IT- the exclusive provider of information technology systems and resources for Greystone and its affiliates. He is responsible for establishing IT strategy and ensuring that IT initiatives are properly aligned with corporate and business objectives. He specializes in working with businesses to design and deploy highly available systems that increase efficiency and create competitive advantages.

    Prior to joining Greystone Jonathan spent 14 years directing the information technology division of a CPA firm in Atlanta, Georgia. Jonathan is a graduate of Kennesaw State University with B.B.A. degrees in Accounting and Marketing.

  • Mordecai Rosenberg

    Executive Vice President & Managing Director, Head of FHA Lending

    Mordecai Rosenberg heads Greystone’s FHA lending group, overseeing strategy and business development for multifamily and healthcare mortgage lending activities. The group has ranked #1 in FHA lending for three consecutive years.

    Prior to leading the FHA business, Mordecai served as a Managing Director, leading one of Greystone’s top origination teams, with a focus on FHA lending and taxable and tax-exempt bond transactions for multifamily housing and healthcare properties. Under his leadership, his team structured and closed over $2 billion in debt and equity investments. Prior to joining Greystone, Mr. Rosenberg was a Vice President at Red Stone Partners where he sourced, structured and underwrote tax-exempt housing bond acquisitions for an investment group owned by Prudential Real Estate Investors.

    Mordecai graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors from University of Pennsylvania, and also studied at several international universities, including London School of Economics, Moscow State University and University of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania, Africa.

  • Billy Posey

    CEO of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Lending

    Mr. Posey and his team are responsible for the Fannie Mae DUS™ Lending Platform, including affordable, seniors, and small balance (3Max) lending. His team is also responsible for the bridge lending platform. He is very active in the development of correspondent relationships with key financial institutions and mortgage bankers. Billy has worked in banking and finance with an emphasis in commercial real estate finance since 1982. Prior to joining Greystone, he was the CEO for Univest Financial Services and was a partner in an international accounting firm. He earned a B.A. from Rhodes College and is a certified public accountant.

  • Joe Mosley

    Executive Vice President of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Lending

    Joseph H. Mosley is Executive Vice President and the Head of Agency Production. He is responsible for business development with certain key investment banks, borrowers, commercial banks and mortgage bankers.

    In 1980, Joe began working in banking and finance with an emphasis on commercial real estate. Prior to joining Greystone, he served as CEO of a conduit lending platform and as executive managing director for Univest Financial Services, Inc.

    He has a B.S. from the University of Alabama and has practiced as a certified public accountant.

  • Jody McClanahan

    Director of Human Resources

    Ms. McClanahan is responsible for directing all benefits, new employment and personnel matters. She is a member of the new business team that organizes and supports all office operations. These include: legal, payroll, marketing, and personnel for each new business that Greystone develops.

    Jody has worked in banking, specializing in human resources and management since 1973. Prior to joining Greystone, she served as vice president of The Fauquier Bank.

    She is a graduate of the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management and the American Bankers Association of Human Resource Graduate School.

  • Mark R. Jarrell

    Corporate Executive Vice President

    Mark has overall responsibility for Greystone’s non-Agency lending activities, including its CMBS business and its bridge and mezzanine lending efforts. Mark has been working in commercial real estate and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) since 1983, and has a broad base of expertise in securitization, origination, underwriting, marketing and asset management.

    Immediately prior to joining Greystone, Mark served as President and COO of the publicly-traded mortgage REIT CRIIMI MAE Inc. (NYSE: CMM), which invested in subordinate commercial mortgage-backed securities. While there, he successfully managed a going-private merger transaction, which included serving as acting CEO during the 12-month merger process. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions in the CMBS groups at Merrill Lynch, Daiwa Securities and Greenwich Capital, among other firms, from 1986-2002.

    Mark earned a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia College, Columbia University. He also holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

  • Chip Hudson

    Senior Vice President, Chief Underwriter, Agency Lending

    Chip Hudson is a Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriter of Greystone’s Agency lending platform. Chip has been in a leadership role at Greystone for over 10 years, and has over 18 years of total commercial real estate finance experience. Chip is the chairman of Greystone’s Agency new loan origination committee and a member of the corporate credit policy committee, as well as Greystone’s Bridge Lending loan committee.

    Prior to joining Greystone, Chip helped Nationwide Life build its capital markets lending platform.

    Chip holds a Bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College.

  • Arthur Hatzopoulos

    Executive Managing Director

    Art has been with Greystone since February 1998. He is responsible for securing financing for Greystone’s various business activities and is a key member of Greystone’s credit committees.

    Art also works closely with Greystone Health Care Management in acquisitions, financing, and operations oversight. He has worked in the public and private sectors in the areas of healthcare, multifamily, affordable housing and tax-exempt real estate finance since 1979. Prior to joining Greystone, he was a senior vice president with Related Capital Company. Earlier in his career, he was Deputy Director for the Jersey City, NJ Department of Housing and Economic Development.

    Art earned a B.A. from Columbia University and an M.C.R.P from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

  • William B. Guessford

    Senior Vice President of Multifamily Property Management and Acquisitions

    Mr. Guessford provides oversight of all REO properties, and participates in the analysis and purchase of new assets. His group is responsible for Fannie Mae property inspections and interventions in troubled assets.

    William is a certified property manager from the Institute of Real Estate Management and holds the CAM, CAMII, and CAMT designations through the National Apartment Association, as well as the National Assisted Housing Professional designation through the National Assisted Housing Management Association.

  • Jeff Englund

    Senior Managing Director

    Jeff Englund is a Senior Managing Director for Greystone’s multifamily affordable housing finance platform. He is responsible for the oversight of affordable product lines within FHA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac agency lending programs and development of proprietary affordable housing lending products.

    Jeff joined Greystone in 2005 to build a dedicated affordable housing finance team focused solely on low-income housing tax credit, tax-exempt bond and other affordable multifamily loan products designed to preserve this asset class nationwide. Prior to joining Greystone, Jeff was part of the management team at Midland Companies/MMA Financial responsible for the credit underwriting of both the construction and permanent financing / equity on multifamily affordable housing projects with 9% LIHTC and Tax Exempt Bonds with 4% LIHTC equity.

    Mr. Englund has over 20 years of multifamily affordable housing lending experience, received a B.A. from St. Cloud University majoring in commercial real estate and is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser licensed in Minnesota and Florida.

  • Tanya Eastwood

    President, Affordable Housing Initiatives

    Tanya’s primary focus is assisting owners and developers in meeting complex challenges associated with the recapitalization, rehabilitation and preservation of affordable housing across the US. She sources new finance and real estate preservation opportunities under the Fannie Mae, FHA and USDA product lines. Tanya has worked in multi-family real estate since 1989, specifically in development, management, fiscal analysis and asset management.

    Prior to joining Greystone, she was Executive Director of WAJ Management, LLC where she directed the asset management of LIHTC, HUD, and USDA sites located throughout North Carolina. Furthermore, she served for approximately 11 years as Regional Vice President of Development for Forest City Residential Group, a Cleveland based $10.7 billion publicly traded real estate company, where she concentrated on urban development and adaptive re-use of multifamily sites throughout the eastern US.

    Tanya holds an active North Carolina Real Estate Broker-In-Charge License. She has also been elected President of the Council for Affordable and Rural Housing (CARH) for the 2016-2018 term. Over the years, Tanya has participated in many educational conferences/workshops and is considered to be one of today’s top innovative leaders in preservation of affordable housing.

  • Charles Di Maggio

    COO of Greystone Management Solutions

    Charles Di Maggio oversees Greystone Management Solutions. He provides a wide variety of real estate services for clients, including lease negotiation, drafting, review, use compliance, tenant relations, debt collection, marketing, quality control and client communication.

    Since 1980, Charles has been actively involved in real estate, management, law and construction in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Greystone, he was an executive vice president for Grenadier Realty Corp. He has also served as the City of New York’s lead housing and real estate lobbyist in Albany, the Assistant Commissioner for Local Government Affairs and Contract Management for the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and as the Assistant Representative to the Board of Estimate for the Mayor’s Office of the City of New York under the administration of Edward I. Koch.

    Charles has a B.A. from Fordham University, a Master’s in urban planning from Hunter College, City University of New York and a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. He is a licensed real estate broker in New York State and a member of the New York State and Colorado Bar Associations, the American Public Transportation Association, and the Rent Stabilization Association of New York. He is licensed to practice law in the states of New York and Colorado.

  • Jonathan D. Coven

    Executive Managing Director, Off Balance Sheet Lending

    Mr. Coven joined Greystone in 1999. He is a senior executive involved in corporate planning and special projects. Prior to Greystone, Jonathan spent 25 years working for premier real estate development companies including fifteen years with Olympia & York and Trizec. He is experienced in turning around distressed projects. Just before joining Greystone, he worked as a Vice President for Hong Kong-based Concord Properties which had foreclosed on a vacant 1.0 million square foot Manhattan office building. Through an innovative layering of city and state incentive programs, Jonathan secured two anchor tenants who leased 750,000 square feet guaranteeing the success of the project. Jonathan holds a B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.

  • Sharon Briskman

    Executive Vice President, Servicing and Asset Management

    Sharon leads Greystone’s servicing and asset management division and oversees Investor Reporting; Custodial Accounting; Loan Administration; Securities and Documentation; and Customer Care. She previously served as CFO of the company’s servicing and lending platforms. Greystone’s $16 billion portfolio of loans is serviced for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, USDA and other investors, and has maintained the highest rating from Standard & Poor’s (Strong) for several years.

    Prior to joining Greystone in 2005, Sharon was an Executive Vice President at Wells Fargo where she was the Director of Agency Servicing. She has also held senior roles at AMI Capital Inc., Prudential Multifamily Mortgage and Capri Capital (formerly Washington Capital).

    Sharon earned a Bachelor’s degree from George Washington University.

  • Kerry Brewer

    Vice President, Greystone Property Management Corporation

    Kerry Brewer is the Vice President of Greystone’s Property Management Division. With more than 20 years’ experience in managing multifamily properties, Kerry oversees all aspects of Greystone’s multifamily management operations throughout the United States. Prior to joining Greystone, Ms. Brewer held a senior management position with another large Midwest based property management company for many years. Ms. Brewer is a Certified Credit Compliance Professional and has earned her HCCP designation. She has monitored compliance with LIHTC/Bond requirements in over 12 states. Kerry has experience with various government programs including Tax Credit, Trust Fund Bond, BOND, SAIL, HOME, FMHA and HUD Section 8 and has completed over 100 hours of continuing education covering these programs.

  • Doug P. Benach

    Chief Investment Officer, Real Estate

    Mr. Benach leads Greystone’s real estate acquisition and new development strategies. Before his current role, Mr. Benach oversaw the development, construction, sale and leasing of Greystone’s real estate development portfolio.

    Doug has worked for more than 40 years in real estate development, construction, marketing and management in the U.S. and the Middle East.

    He spent 12 years as a senior executive at Starrett Housing Corporation/HRH. Some notable projects Doug has been involved with include Citicorp World Headquarters, Trump Tower, Trump Plaza and the Javits Convention Center.

  • Charlie Baxter

    Chief Lending Officer

    Charlie is the Chief Lending Officer for Greystone’s Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lending platforms. In this role, he oversees operations, underwriting, closing and delivery of all Agency loan production. Having joined Greystone in 2005, Charlie is also a member of the Corporate Management Committee, which is responsible for establishing short- and long-term strategy of the company.

    Prior to Greystone, Charlie was Chief Operating Officer for nationwide commercial real estate finance firm Reliant Professional Services where he was responsible for the company’s overall P&L as well as operations and new business development. He has also served senior roles at Univest Financial Services and PCA Foundation.

    Charlie received a Bachelor of Science degree from Wofford College and an MBA from Georgia State University. He also holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. Charlie is a Commander in the United States Naval Reserve.

    Mr. Bolick is the Chief Financial Officer of Greystone. Bruce has more than twenty-nine years of experience in public accounting including: supervised auditing, accounting principles, tax compliance and planning; consulting and business valuation engagements. His clientele included companies, large and small, public and private; in the fields of construction, real estate, retailing, high technology, manufacturing, wholesaling, professional services, and finance.

    Prior to joining Greystone, Bruce was a partner and the head of the merger and acquisition department of HLB Gross Collins and was involved with the Greystone family of companies for more than 10 years, having worked on various audits, compilations, reviews and special projects.

    Bruce is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the North Carolina Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

  • Robert Barolak

    Corporate Co-Chief Operating Officer

    Mr. Barolak has been a key executive since the firm’s inception. He has overseen strategy in most of Greystone’s business lines and supervised the firm’s nationwide housing business on both the debt and equity sides. He frequently guides some of the firm’s more innovative transactions. Today, his activities focus predominantly on the firm’s multifamily property acquisition and management efforts as well as its affordable housing preservation activities.

    Prior to joining Greystone in 1989, Bob was a tax-exempt finance attorney with Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll. He has a B.A. from Dickinson College and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.

  • Curtis Pollock

    Corporate Co-Chief Operating Officer

    Mr. Pollock joined Greystone in 1993. He co-manages business operations and new business development for the various Greystone companies. He is responsible for strategic planning and management of lending and general banking relationships; maintenance of quality control in accounting practices; corporate compliance; portfolio and risk management; and human resources, benefits and insurance.

    Prior to joining Greystone, he was with the CPA firm of HLB Gross Collins in Atlanta specializing in real estate, corporate finance and mortgage banking.

    He holds a B.B.A. from Georgia State University where he also attended the Masters of Taxation program.
